Outdoor Playground Equipment – 7 Tips for Community Applications

Proludic has created a community funding guide to help local groups gain funding for playground equipment.

This is designed to show communities how – with help from Proludic – they can take charge of improving the facilities for their local area and create their own sporting legacy in 2012.

There are 7 tips for community applications that can be used to unlock the funding:

1. Identify and evidence – what facilities does your community need and why?
2. Create a play space design – establish a brief based on what the community really wants.
3. Consult the community – get feedback on the initial design to ensure it reflects everyone’s vision.
4. Research funding options – ask the Proludic team to help source funding options from the wide range available.
5. Apply for funding – use the evidence gathered earlier in the process to show how the funding will be meeting a real need.
6. Celebrate your success – create an opening event to introduce and integrate your new play area into the community.
7. Maintain your asset – create a programme of regular inspections and maintenance to ensure your play area is operational at all times.
