Site: Abbott Hall Park, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 4EU
Client: South Lakeland District Council
Budget: £120,000
The Friends of Abbot Hall Playground, worked with South Lakeland District Council to provide a new and improved children’s playground at the town centre park. Funding was sought through its Locally Important Projects grant scheme, South Lakes Housing, Kendal Town Council, Tesco, the Frieda Scott Charitable Trust, the Hadfield Trust, Cumbria County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Fund.
The opening event included speeches and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, as well as fun activities like face painting and bubble blowing. Proludic also provided goodie bags and funded free ice creams for the children.
The ‘Friends of Abbot Hall Playground’ along with SLDC worked hard on raising funds for a great playground and this is what Proludic provided. Installation was trouble-free and the site opening was enjoyed by the local children. There is now something for everybody. A great destination for the families in Kendal and visitors to the town.
