The small village of Banton in North Lanarkshire had a children’s play area that had become quite tired-looking and in need of a serious makeover. Funding from the local authority was made available and a competitive tender process was set up through Public Contracts Scotland. The chosen Proludic play equipment provides a fantastic range of activities for children of all ages and abilities. There is a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, an exciting cableway, a large Origin’ multiplay Unit, swings, sensory play panels and the spring mounded and rotating rodeo board. The wetpour safety surface has stunning natural colours and graphics to refer to the local landscape and River Kelvin.

This is one of the better play areas that I have been involved in, the completed area looks even better than the presentation poster in the original submission!

Christina McGready, Play Services Manager North Lanarkshire Council

In keeping with the woodland and nature theme, all the equipment looks vibrant, aesthetically pleasing and primarily includes units from the Origin’ range that utilise the durable natural Robinia timber.
