Land of Canaan Play Area – Mary St. Ottery, East Devon

In 2025, Proludic delivered a 10-site playground programme for East Devon District Council. A standout site, the Land of Canaan Play Area in Ottery St Mary, features a bespoke otter- and nature-inspired design that reflects the town’s identity.

Set beside the River Otter, the playground is centred on a bespoke otter multi-play unit accommodating more than 70 children. Offering inclusive climbing, balancing, traversing and sensory activities, it creates a memorable focal point while supporting imaginative, social and active play. Low-level features ensure children with different access needs can participate together.

The wider play space includes junior climbers, swings, a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, a seesaw, horizontal bars and balancing equipment. A large multi-goal unit also provides opportunities for ball games and informal sport, creating a varied destination for children of all ages and abilities.
