Proludic successfully delivered a landmark 10-site playground transformation programme for East Devon District Council, secured through a competitive tender and completed in 2025.
The brief called for ten distinctive play spaces, each reflecting its local community while meeting high standards for creativity, inclusion and sustainability. Proludic’s in-house design team developed bespoke solutions for a range of rural and coastal locations, balancing local character with long-term play value.
To minimise disruption, works were carefully phased. Five sites were completed before the summer holidays, installations were paused during the peak period, and the remaining locations were finished by the end of November. The programme was delivered across a 30-mile radius while meeting the Council’s budget, quality and timescale requirements.
Across the ten sites, Proludic installed 97 pieces of play and sports equipment. This ultimately delivered more than 858 play values for over 851 children. Inclusion was central, with 76% of equipment incorporating inclusive features for children with differing physical, mobility and neurodivergent needs.
Our team also embedded sustainability through responsibly sourced timber and recycled materials. Each scheme reflects its setting, from maritime play in Exmouth to a bespoke river otter in Ottery St Mary. Proludic’s design ultimately creates lasting community destinations across East Devon for generations to enjoy together.
