Site: Markeaton Park, Ashbourne Road, Derby, DE22 3FS

Budget: £107,000

Age Range: Toddler&Junior

Date Opened: 03-Jun-2013

The Proludic team visited the site with the client to discuss their vision for the project and to understand if any limitations or site constraints had not been communicated in the brief. At this meeting, it was apparent that the client wanted to use Proludic’s contemporary design skills to create a wow factor for the city’s most prominent outdoor space.

After submitting an initial concept design based on recurring water themes found throughout the park, Proludic was selected to work in partnership with Derby City Council. A period of development took place alongside the local community to ensure the ship provided a suitable level of challenge for a wide variety of abilities. Following this period, additional elements were added guaranteeing a full and exciting range of play experiences for everyone. Proludic successfully installed an innovative and completely bespoke unit that is unique to the park. The ship offers a fantastic array of play opportunities including inclusive access points.

This is excellent for children of all abilities in Derby, to enjoy exciting and imaginative play equipment right in the heart of our much-loved and much-used Markeaton Park.
