The Water Adventure Play Park in Weston-super-Mare has been transformed into a vibrant, seaside-themed destination that reflects the character of the town.

Located near the seafront promenade, the site presented several challenges, including a harsh coastal climate, poor drainage, heavy summer use and underground flood defences. The new seaside-themed destination design, therefore, needed to be durable, inclusive and carefully integrated with the existing splash pad and kiosk.
Proludic was selected for its coastal expertise, strong guarantees and robust product range. Using high-pressure laminate and structural steel, the team created a long-lasting play space able to withstand salty air, adverse weather and frequent use.
The park’s centrepiece is the J2696 Whale from Proludic’s Aquatica range. Measuring 10.42 metres long, it accommodates up to 70 users and offers 59 play activities. Internal climbing nets, slides with Perspex windows, a hammock and swings create an immersive experience that encourages physical activity, imagination and social play.
