Despite a chilly start to the year in the UK, fun hasn’t halted in West Bridgford, Nottingham. The refurbished Boundary Road Play Area is now open!
Proludic worked with Rushcliffe Borough Council to rejuvenate this beloved playground. The area had been a community staple for many years.
Official Reopening of Boundary Road Play Area
West Bridgford’s popular Boundary Road Play Area has now officially reopened to the public following a £63,000 investment in refurbishments by Rushcliffe Borough CouncilThe upgraded play area, delivered by Proludic, features a climbing wall, zip wire, wheelchair-accessible seesaw, swing sets, and springers.
Councillor Jonathan Wheeler of Rushcliffe Borough Council officiated the reopening. The council, Proludic, and children from Heymann Primary School gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Enhancing Accessibility and Play Opportunities
The renovations replaced a large earth mound with more accessible equipment. Natural play elements were also added to the design. This project is part of Rushcliffe Borough Council’s commitment to enhancing local parks and outdoor spaces. Last year, the Adbolton Lane play park in Lady Bay underwent an £80,000 makeover, also benefiting from Proludic’s expertise.
Councillor Wheeler, the Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Wellbeing, highlighted the value of community play facilities: “We are delighted to provide these essential upgrades to the park, enhancing them for the long term and ensuring they are well-suited for the future.”
He further added, “The redevelopment of Boundary Road introduces accessible and inclusive equipment, allowing all children to enjoy the play facilities, which also integrates natural play elements. It was wonderful to welcome Year 2 children from Heymann Primary School to the park and witness their enjoyment of the newly refurbished facilities.”
Kiran Chouhan, Proludic’s Area Manager for Nottinghamshire, stressed the company’s dedication to local communities. These initiatives are meaningful given the strong local connections of Proludic’s staff.
