Woodford Garden Village is an innovative new development in the heart of Cheshire. Based at the historic former aerodrome at Woodford, the development lies near Wilmslow, Poynton and Bramhall and is within commuting distance of Central Manchester.
This 300+ development was built over 3 phases due to its size, and as a result had to accommodate numerous play areas to meet government obligations for these community facilities. A mix of six LAPs (Local Area for Play) and LEAPs (Local Equipped Area for Play) were required. Proludic were given drawings and their vast product portfolio surpassing 1300 pieces of equipment helped to deliver these schemes for Redrow.
One of the biggest play areas on the main Village Green utilised Proludic’s wooden range of play equipment called Origin’ which is constructed from Robinia wood. Inspiration was taken from the local aerodrome for the wetpour design that included a huge propeller turning inlaid in the design. One of the smaller LAPs included numerous play panels, one of which was tic-tac-toe, to keep younger children amused and seating for adults to take a much needed break.
We are very proud of how all the play areas look. We always try to offer cost saving suggestions that do not compromise the quality, for what is a high specification development. Everything went as planned and we received a strong endorsement from the client that we would be recommended to their colleagues in other offices
