Set just outside the historic city of Canterbury on the former Howe Barracks site, Taylor Wimpey has undertaken a major redevelopment of the site adding hundreds of new residential homes for professionals and families to purchase.

As part of the sizable master plan for the area, the principal contractor Taylor Wimpey wanted to create a large LEAP (Local Equipped Area for Play) to meet the needs of juniors and teenagers residing locally. Following a competitive bidding process, Proludic was chosen as the contractor to deliver the play and sports area.

The newly completed site now includes popular pieces of equipment set against the vibrant multicolour wetpour surfacing. The new play area includes a combination of traditional equipment such as swings and a multiplay unit. This is combined with challenging and engaging Proludic favourites such as the Pod swing and rotating climbing net for a vast range of play experiences.

This new play area is a great addition to the neighbourhood. As well as providing children with a safe space to hang out, it also offers a host of play values which are essential for children’s development.
